Elder Uriah Millen is the youngest child born to Oscar and Claire Millen in the tiny village of Browns Town in St. Ann, Jamaica. Growing up in a Christian home propelled Uriah to commit his life to the Lord at the age of 9. He continued his commitment to service in the church throughout his life and is currently the co-head elder at First University.
Professionally, Uriah began a career in banking while attending evening classes at the University of West Indies, Jamaica. Once he migrated to the United States, Uriah completed his degree in Business Administration and pivoted into a nursing career as a critical care nurse. Currently, Uriah is pursuing his advanced practice degree. He believes psychiatry and mental health is a calling and desires to impact minority youth struggling with mental illness and substance use.
Uriah considers his family to be God’s best gift to him. He has been married to the former Paula Ann Jackson since 1997, and they are the proud parents of two boys– Benjamin and Jacob.
